Audio Training Series: Module 8: Here, the CBT makes adjustments to the cost of your inventory, after you tell it that you took advantage of the various discounts available through the Back Office. The Cost of Goods Sold is a big thing with your tax return, if you buy products, and then sell them for a profit. So keeping track of what your actual cost is, is important. Whether you Buy-5-Get-1-Free, or get a Discounted Dozen, it means that your cost for those items is less than the single item price. So to make the cost of things more accurate on the Tracker, you can tell it how many items you bought, at varying kinds of discounts, in the Discounts Section of the JAN-DEC tabs. The ADJ tab will adjust your cost accordingly, and apply the total discount to the SUMMARY. The ADJ tab, however, is a "read-only" tab, so you don't have to do anything here, except review it occasionally, to see what your total discounts for the year were, for each product.
