Latest Update: Monday, 05/11/2010 3:00pm Below is a list of the enhancements the Tracker has undergone for 2010! I hope it was worth the wait... -------------------------------------------------------------- Here are the major charges for 2010 (version 10.3.0202). 1. The Bella Basics, or Main Candle Scent list, now includes 26-oz. Grande Jars. For scents not available in 26-oz, the rows have been hidden. The rows can be un-hidden with no problem, and no password, if they are released later on. The company announced that 10-oz. jars may be available as early as this Summer. This CBT does NOT include 10-oz. Jars. That requires a full redesign, which must be built in Excel 2007. Excel 2003 cannot handle it. 2. Mia Bella Beauty™ is now its own section; it's no longer among the items in the Bella Boutique. What's nice, is that if you don't use it or sell it, the entire section can be hidden. There are also very handy navigation links at the top of JAN-DEC, programmed to jump you to either the beginning of Bella Beauty, or to any of the following sections:
3. Specialty Candles have also been removed from the Bella Boutique and is now its own section too! It includes:
4. Bella Boutique now contains only Bath & Body & a few other items;
Note: There are not rows for individual colors of Simmer Pots or Plug-Ins. It seemed simpler to keep them as single categories, which also made programming easier. 5. The Mileage tab was updated to allow JAN-Beginning & DEC-Ending odometer readings to be entered. This will help to show your business mileage as a percentage of total mileage. This is very handy for tax time, because it doesn't matter whether you claim mileage or actual expenses, you still need to know what the percentage of business use is.

tabs, all 2009 COTM scents were blended
into the Main Scent List,
and THERE'S NO LONGER A COTM SECTION as before! 7. Bella Bars & Simmer Pots now reflect new pricing in the Bella Boutique section. 8. The RETIRED tab's Scent List had 18 scents added to it, and the Other Retired Products section was redesigned. Products added to the RETIRED tab include the Snowberry Pine™ Holiday Jar and the original Bella Bars & Simmer Pots. 9. -------------------------------------------------------------- Here's what new in each 2010 release, beginning with version 10.3.0202. All of the above enhancements were part of the release 10.3.0202. Here's what was new for version 10.3.0210. ADJ & COST tabs: Added individual product rows underneath the Summary Rows. SUMMARY tab: Fixed the Cost & MSRP of the Bella Bars, which were at the old price of $4.00 & $5.95 respectively (now at $4.55 & $6.95). Here's what was new for version 10.3.0216. JAN-DEC tabs: Fixed Candle Totals formulas, which had shifted and were giving incorrect totals for Added, Sold, Promo & Personal.
ADJ tab: 1) Car Freshener Summary cost corrected
from $11.95 to $2.25 Here's what was new for version 10.3.0219. SUMMARY tab: Fixed the Purchases (row 176) in the Cost of Goods Sold section, which referenced an incorrect row from the I&E tab. Here's what was new for version 10.3.0226. INVENTORY tab: Fixed the formula in the totals for the Main Scent List, which was excluding Wildflowers & the 2 reserved rows. ADJ tab: Fixed the Cost reference for 16-oz. Jars, Melts & Votives, so that they reference the SUMMARY for those amounts. Here's what was new for version 10.3.0303.
MILEAGE: 8829 Tab: JAN-DEC columns were widened to allow for numbers up to $9,999.99. Here's what was new for version 10.3.0503. The new Iced Mint Jar & Orchard Line were added to virtually all tabs. THERE WILL BE NO MORE UPDATES IN EXCEL 2003. ALL FUTURE CBT RELEASES BEYOND VERSION 10.3.0503 WILL BE IN EXCEL 2007, AND WILL HAVE THE VERSION FORMAT 10.7.nnnn.XLSX. IN ORDER TO USE THEM, YOU MUST HAVE EXCEL 2007 (or third-party equivalent)! -------------------------------------------------------------- Why Does the Tracker Now Have a Fee? It's been nearly three years of programming, web page building and providing support for the Tracker, all at no cost. The time came to assign a modest fee to the Tracker file, and its associated documents, in order to keep the CBT alive and carry it forward into 2010 & beyond.
I gave this a great deal of thought, and it
was a long time coming... So I made the decision to offer the CBT & all its associated files available for purchase. For $20, current subscribers can download an updated 2009 version, plus automatically get the link to download the 2010 version when it's released. After that, the CBT will be $20 per year, which will include any updates during the year, and includes the same support you've already had available since 2007. -------------------------------------------------------------- 2009 Version 0601 is No Longer Available! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Special Thanks

In theory, they will still help a beginner get started. Suggestions
for Future Enhancements Here is where I'll keep a running list of ideas that people come up with for enhancing the Candle Business Tracker in 2010. This isn't to say all these things will be added, but it'll be a place where all suggestions are consolidated.
------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Bit of History The 2008-0825 version of the Tracker was a major revision, and wasn't originally scheduled for release until 2009. But Excel problems surfaced with the 0715 version, when I tried adding the new products released at the Summer Fling. This was because the 0715 version was built & then re-built too many times. The new 0825 version was built from scratch, and helped eliminate those Excel problems. The development of the 2009 version, though, also saw some of the same Excel issues. Basically, you can only do so much formatting in Excel before it starts to choke, and the Tracker is at that stage where very little more formatting can be done. Fortunately, very little more formatting is needed. COTM scent names can be added easily, so there's no need to release a new version every single month.
